• Tech lead for infrastructure teams including service infrastructure, data infrastructure, and presentation infrastructure. Some highlights:
• Led development of Pemberly, the infrastructure used to convert LinkedIn from a static page design to a single page application (SPA) experience.
• Created the initial design for LinkedIn's modern service stack. Led several projects that fell out of the design, including the transport layer, the service wiring system, and the asynchronous graph execution engine. Some of my work on the transport layer and general infrastructure has been open sourced at https://github.com/linkedin/rest.li. My work on asynchronous graph execution is open sourced at https://github.com/linkedin/parseq.
• Member of the technology leadership group, responsible for establishing technical direction across engineering teams.
• Developed the first asynchronous transport early on at LinkedIn as we struggled to scale our synchronous, servlet-based services.

• Led Java server development for the Laszlo Webtop product, a rich internet application (RIA) desktop that allows multiple applications to run together and interact seamlessly. The server framework provides support for extensible authentication (including single-sign on), pluggable services, and multiplexed messaging. It includes applications for IMAP mail and contacts persisted in SQL or LDAP.

Jul 2005 – Nov 2006 · 1 yr 4 mos

• Managed a team of 7 engineers and led delivery of several concurrent releases of CommandCentral Availability (CCA) and its successor, Cluster Management Console (CMC). Cluster Management Console is a web-based application that provides consolidated operational management, configuration, and reporting of Veritas clusters and clustered applications throughout the enterprise.

Feb 1999 – Jul 2005 · 6 yrs 5 mos

• Developed much of the backend for CCA, Veritas's cluster management application, including the messaging system, state replication, and the distributed query system. Explored future technologies for the CCA product, including CORBA, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and JBOSS. Led a cross-product focus group in the design of a common policy information model using UML and CORBA IDL.
