• I focused on optimizing our RDS Postgres instances, that were experiencing performance and stability challenges. Through this exercise, I devised a parameter group applicable across all database instances and conducted in-depth analyses of each database during peak hours. These efforts have substantially lowered operational and capital expenses, achieving a 60% reduction for our major clients and 20-30% for our smaller ones.
• I spearheaded the redesign of our main product line, developing a platform that streamlines distributed systems' complexities. I built a distributed key-value cache that is using NATS for replication, achieving 15K-25K RPS on a quad-core machine and supporting diverse index types backed by Badger DB/Bolt DB/NATS for persistence. Additionally, I designed a counter-based rate limiter for up to 40K TPS. Lead the Orchestrator product deployment on this platform which significantly cut operational costs by 20 times. I streamlined our infrastructure by introducing an append-only database pattern on ClickHouse, limiting operations to SELECT and INSERT for simpler I/O and locking, thus boosting database throughput.
• I'm currently leading the AI initiative aimed at developing an AI assistant that integrates with all our product lines. The objective is to grasp the user's current context and assist accordingly. This assistant offers daily summaries and recommends suitable actions for users to take, further, facilitating the execution of these actions with user's approval.

Notably, I developed a service based on QUIC (also known as HTTP/3) to enhance data transmission across networks, achieving a significant decrease in TCP retransmissions by 23-56%, depending on the network infrastructure.
• I spearheaded the design of an innovative logging system utilizing NVMe technology, leading to a substantial reduction in total cost of ownership (TCO). • Within a year, I led the transformation of the 85+ member India Cloud Platform Business Unit from a support-focused team to a research and development hub. I mentored over 200 engineers across various levels, including the management team, fostering an environment that retained, nurtured, and expanded our engineering capabilities into a formidable force.
• My leadership contributed to the team's success in developing numerous architectural components for vCenter and VMware Cloud following the transformation. I designed and authored a Java framework to streamline the development of Cloud Observability, Infrastructure Management, and Multi-VC connections.
• I initiated and directed the development of key sub-products, including Cloud Observability tools for VMware Cloud SRE, vStats for processing high-volume infrastructure metrics, and standardized virtual appliance platforms across the organization.
• As the gatekeeper for services integrating with vCenter, I ensured a thorough understanding of these services, assessing their performance and computing needs. Additionally, I was the exclusive maintainer of Lotus DB, addressing and resolving longstanding issues related to tombstone pruning, equivalent to maintaining an Active Directory.
• I chaired the VMware India graduate onboarding program, designing a comprehensive 3-week introduction to VMware's product line for new graduates. Furthermore, I led the VMware India Borathon, an internal hackathon designed to foster innovation and develop product features and groundbreaking technologies.
• I also played a crucial role in the PagerDuty team for VMware Cloud, providing dedicated support for vCenter seven days a week.

My work led to the invention of Operating System Volumization (Patent US20180365046A1), also known as universal boot volumes. This innovation dramatically reduced the time required to provision any operating system on HPE servers—from a typical 45+ minutes to just 15 seconds—complete with full personalization. This advancement significantly shortened data center rollout times for customers from the usual six months to merely a couple of weeks.
• Additionally, I pioneered OS versioning and recovery technology (Patent US10372557B2), facilitating automatic versioning of workloads and enabling rapid recovery from any point of failure to a safe execution point within minutes.
• My contributions also include the design of the Rapid OS Assembly technology (Patent US10678554B2), which accelerates the assembly of OS blocks on new servers by utilizing resources from neighboring servers in close proximity.
• I developed a new architecture for the Server Migration Pack, streamlining the process of migrating OS workloads from older server generations to newer ones with just a few clicks. This redesigned system achieved a 12-fold performance improvement over its predecessor.
• Moreover, I have authored several patent publications covering a wide range of topics, including OS volumes, common server data stores, self-assembling workloads based on server profiles, as well as replication, migration, and the concept of liquid workloads.
