Qadeer Khan — Co-Founder
More than 25 years of experience as an educator, researcher, circuit designer, entrepreneur with expertise in power management integrated circuits and systems. Received my bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, India, in 1999 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Oregon State University, USA in 2012. My Ph.D. work was focused on developing novel control techniques for high performance switching dc-dc converters. I am currently working as a director (research and product development) at QwikChip Technologies, a PMIC startup. Also heading research at SmartWheels Inc, an AI startup developing sensors for smart tires. From 2016 to 2024, I worked at Indian Institute of Technology Madras as an assistant professor where my teaching and research was focused on analog/mixed signal circuits, power management ICs and IoT sensors. From 2012 to 2015, worked as a Staff Engineer, Power Management Systems with Qualcomm, San Diego and from 2015 to 2016 with Qualcomm, Bangalore where I was engaged in defining system and architecture of various power management modules for snapdragon chipsets catering to different smartphone markets. From 1999 to 2005, I worked with Motorola and Freescale Semiconductor, India, where my main responsibilities were designing mixed-signal circuits for baseband and network processors and full-chip integrated solutions for high-voltage motor drives. Holding 22 patents (18 U.S. and 4 Indian) and authored/co-authored various IEEE publications in the area of analog, mixed-signal and power management ICs. I serve as a reviewer for various IEEE journals and served as session chair for various IEEE conferences. Recipient of Qualcomm India Faculty Award 2021 and Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship for 2022-2024. I am co-founder of QwikChip Technologies (Noida), a PMIC startup and my research interests involve high-performance linear regulators, LDOs, switching dc-dc converters and power management ICs for mobile, IoT sensors, automotive and lighting applications.
