• I returned to the Kafka team in a remote role, focusing my work on the networking and security layers of Confluent Cloud. I was involved in developing the REST API proxy layer for Kafka, building the networking support for a new type of Freight cluster in Confluent Cloud, and handling various operational responsibilities as an on call engineer.

• Immediately following my internship, I transitioned into a full-time position and continued working as a member of the Kafka team, specifically focusing on Confluent's version of Tiered Storage for Kafka. One of my major projects was designing, implementing, and deploying Kafka compacted topic support for the Tiered Storage feature. This project migrated multiple petabytes of data from block-level storage (like Amazon EBS) into cloud object storages (like Amazon S3), saving $4 million per year in cloud provider storage costs across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

• I worked as an engineer with the Core Kafka team to implement and add support for utilizing respective cloud storages in multiple cloud computing services. I also helped to create a framework that could automate the testing of this feature.

• I was a developer on the Chrome OS Bluetooth team working with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) peripheral devices. I implemented an interface in C to interact with a Nordic nRF51-Dongle to emulate a BLE mouse or keyboard. I also created BLE tests in Python for Chrome OS devices using the Autotest framework and the nRF51 interface.
