About

Twenty-year engineering leader. I've scaled platforms in global commerce, regulated FinTech, and multilingual infrastructure used by hundreds of millions. My work sits in the hard seat, where engineering has to ship commercially and hold up under regulator, board, and public scrutiny at once. Three arenas have shaped this: - Global commerce: B2B2C multi-tenant SaaS, marketplace, and payments across six markets. 10,000+ branded apps on a shared platform. Full PCI DSS, PSD2/SCA, 3DS stack. - RBI-regulated FinTech: 3.75x growth, one product to five as SVP Engineering. - National-scale public computing: contributor, BIS IS 16333 (Part 3), India's standard for Indic-language computing. Deccan Herald named me a Changemaker. In boardrooms, I bring adversarial judgment most operators don't. The instinct to find the failure mode before it finds us. WHERE I OPERATE - Regulated scale: PCI DSS, PSD2/SCA, 3DS, RBI NBFC compliance. Audit-grade controls designed in by default, not bolted on under pressure. Comfortable in front of regulators. - Trust architecture: Threat modeling as a first-class discipline. Blast radius before feature velocity. Third-party risk, supply chain, and data governance as design constraints, not audit artifacts. - Multi-site engineering orgs: UK, India, global delivery. Hiring, levelling, performance, succession. Rebuilt orgs under growth and cost pressure. - Platform transformation: Monolith to modular. Single product to portfolio. Build vs buy vs partner with real money at stake. - AI as a first-class layer: Agentic systems in regulated production. Governance, memory, and workflow boundaries built in, not bolted on. - Staying close to the system: I read architecture. I read code. I publish thinking. I stay close to systems I don't own, reviewing upstream, reading unfamiliar stacks, pressure-testing my reasoning in public. Technical depth decays the moment it stops being exercised. - M&A and technical diligence: Both sides of the table. SELECTED PUBLIC CONTRIBUTIONS - ECMAScript 2025 compliance work on Mozilla Rhino - Internet standards: Unicode, IDNA, ICANN LGR - National standards: open-source, open-data, open-education, net neutrality - Public speaking: global tech conferences (MozFest, FOSSASIA) and internet governance forums (ICANN, IGF, RightsCon). - Advisory Board, SFLC.in. Jury, Just AI Awards (2024 & 2025). Guiding organisations through inflection points where commercial pressure, regulatory exposure, and public trust all hold at once. Because scaling systems is straightforward. Scaling systems that can be trusted is not.
