• ◦ Led consumer & platforms (frontend, backend), QA, and support functions with a

• ◦ Platform design from the ground-up: Identified the need for isolated multi-tenant platforms and
• architected solutions with the team. Some of the components include - a virtual classroom,
• curriculum management, and an assignment platform. We also designed a highly performant, distributed chess move evaluation and analysis engine that scales stockfish.
• ◦ Compliances and data localization: Designed solutions for distributing the application across
• different data centers improving the experience for the end users while also being compliant with the
• data localization norms. This involves some components being managed at a central region with data
• replication and a few other components that leverage local regional data stores.
• ◦ Data Lake: Did hands-on setting up our data lake on S3 and processing platform from scratch. This
• includes different pipelines for transactional data ingestion. Leveraged
• technologies such as Apache Spark, Hudi, Kafka, Schema Registry, Debezium, Airflow, etc.
• ◦ Cloud Infrastructure: Ensured best-in-class cloud infrastructure with enough failovers, DR
• strategies, monitoring-alerting, and achieved > 99% availability for the whole year. All of our
• workloads are run on Kubernetes with well-defined RBAC and resource isolation for different BUs.
• ◦ Engineering Practices: Necessary processes were set to ensure that all applications meet minimum
• coding standards, style guidelines, peer validations, etc. Enabled an observability solution using open
• telemetry (Prometheus, and OpenSearch) and self-serve pipelines to facilitate easy
• CI/CD to the teams. These are fully adopted in-house from OSS to avoid expensive 3rd party tools.
• ◦ Team & Stakeholder Management: Mentoring engineers/leads, setting their KPIs, conducting
• regular 1:1s/reviews, grooming the tech roadmaps working closely with product/business functions.

• ◦ Responsible for building core engineering solutions in Data Platform & DevOps teams. As an acting
• EM of the teams, I was also responsible for team management and employee success.
• ◦ Built the data team from scratch and rolled out some quick solutions to facilitate data-driven
• decisions for the business teams. These include setting up ETLs leveraging Airflow & AWS Redshift,
• and building ingestion adapters for different data sources like Google Sheets. In a parallel effort,
• worked with the team on the long-term goals and designed the data lake components leveraging S3.
• ◦ Responsible for solving some of the recurrent engineering challenges for the consumer and
• supply-chain teams. These include rolling out WAF to protect from DDoS attacks and improving
• application availability & response times by optimizing different network I/O.

• This not only helped improve the overall HLDs and service interfaces but also motivated the teams to

• ◦ Responsible for re-engineering DevOps solutions that primarily involved migration to Kubernetes with
• improved observability and CI/CD practices leveraging Prometheus, Terraform IAC & Ansible. This
• also improved our MTTD, and MTTR metrics and reduced the service go-live time significantly.
• ◦ Worked closely with the engineering and product directors across functions in rolling out some of the
• above critical engineering changes without disrupting the product roadmaps.

• ◦ Played a pivotal role in re-engineering NestAway’s cloud platforms to suit the micro-services
• architecture by managing production-grade Kubernetes clusters (one of the early adopters). We also
• set up the tooling and made it easy for the dev teams to adopt/migrate to the new architecture.
• ◦ Responsible for building scaffolding tools in multiple languages with custom-built libraries to facilitate
• easy instrumentation (error metrics, log aggregation, RPC retries, etc.) for micro-services.
