• Transitioned my role to become purely individual contributor. I'm no longer developing new features for our product and mainly focus on identifying improvements or best practices relevant to the team in terms of tooling, cloud infrastructure, developer experience, and cost-efficiency. I also conduct research and create proof-of-concepts for any improvements or objectives that higher-ups want to achieve, providing them with data and input to make decisions for the tech team. Sometimes, I still support the product development, such as bug fixing and implementing ad hoc improvements.

• A key player for backend team in a team consisting of 2 backend engineers and 2 frontend engineers, I oversee system design, lead technical discussions, and help the product team gain visibility into what the development team can accomplish to solve user problems. The product we develop is essentially a normal web application used by internal employees and cargo owners, with no special features.
• Given the time constraints imposed by the product team for feature development, I often explore avenues for improvement in infrastructure, developer experience, and tooling utilized across all backend engineers. This includes enhancements like VSCode Snippets, setting up shared Go modules, and refining AWS infrastructure for increased efficiency and productivity.
• Achievements :
• Reduced monthly AWS costs from $4000 to $2000 by implementing the following strategies: consolidating to a single ALB per environment instead of per service, migrating MongoDB from DocumentDB to MongoDB Atlas with right-sized instances, and optimizing EC2 instance sizes based on average usage patterns.
