• As a nominated director on one of Canada’s oldest bilateral, not for profit, business chamber that aims to enhance economic and business relations between Canada and India, I was involved in identifying and creating business opportunities for Canadian businesses in India and vice versa . My area of focus was improving the bilateral flow of investments between Canada and India by forging strong partnerships with key industry organizations as well as federal and provincial governments, and helping connect tech entrepreneurs and startups with investors and organizations in both countries.

• Suja was responsible for managing and scaling up overall India operations for the first ever global in-house hub for software development for Nissan Motor Corporation. From setting and scaling up infrastructure to creating talent attraction strategies, setting up policies and processes, establishing governance, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, promoting a culture of high performance, enabling a collaborative workplace to encourage innovation and digital transformation, Suja spearheaded the Hub’s growth from the ground up to 550 employees in just 1.5 years. Also responsible for building strong ecosystem partnerships with local academia, industry associations, vendors/ service providers as well as being the key point of contact with both state and central governments to enable timely approvals and support.

• Suja headed the overall Investment Promotion and Facilitation activities across all sectors under the Make in India program covering Infrastructure, Manufacturing & Services. She was responsible for developing and implementing an overall organisational strategy/plan for attracting $100B of investments into India, advising on policy matters working with Central Ministries, streamlining processes and procedures that enable better targeting and facilitation outcomes and developing institutional knowledge at Invest India. She also led the facilitation of entry/expansion of some of the biggest global brands into India. She was responsible for creating the first sector specific Investor Desks within various Ministries to enable better facilitation and proactive global outreach and issue resolution. Sector focused teams provided sectoral expertise and handholding for investors including location assessment, issues/grievance handling, market entry/expansion support and after care thus giving a potential investor end to end support and enabling ease of doing business. She kick-started the development of an Innovation program (AGNIi) at Invest India under the aegis of the Principal Scientific Advisor to Govt of India, as part of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC), to harness scientific knowledge & technology for the betterment of society.

• As the Global Knowledge Leader (Senior Manager) for the Government & Public Sector, Suja was responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining a knowledge strategy and framework that caters to the needs of the government and public sector network and is aligned with the Firm’s global growth strategy and the enterprise knowledge plan. The role involved working closely with global leadership and other key senior stakeholders across the KPMG worldwide network to proactively identify and understand the changing business needs and opportunities and to develop and implement knowledge based solutions aimed at effectively meeting these needs in a highly agile and flexible environment. It also involved influencing leaders from the Global network of firms and secure their buy-in. The framework helped make knowledge based activities successful within the Global

• Suja joined PWC’s Sourcing Advisory Practice in Toronto where she managed medium to large scale strategic outsourcing deals across industries covering ITO, BPO and KPO. She also led the vendor management pillar within the Sourcing practice and worked with the Global PWC team on developing a vendor profiling framework for more targeted and strategic procurement of vendors. While at PWC, Suja also spearheaded a knowledge management initiative to create a more efficient framework for sharing and dissemination of critical information across practices.

• As leader of the Global Intelligence Center (GIC) for CGI, a leading Canadian IT Services vendor, Suja took up a challenging two year assignment that meant shifting from Canada to India to establish and manage the global research & analytics captive unit located in Bangalore.
• Suja joined CGI in 2002 as a Senior Analyst, Global Marketing and was part of the government and public sector practice leading a number of key market research & competitive intelligence initiatives. These initiatives included the development of a sector wallet share dashboard that helped track opportunities proactively as well as monitor the organisation’s position in the sector against its competitors. She was also a key member of the team responsible for the development of the global delivery program.
