I’m Amy Perkins, Chief People and Safety Officer at Sovereign Hill. I lead teams responsible for people, culture, health, safety and wellbeing, with a clear focus on strengthening business performance through fair, practical and commercially grounded people and safety strategy. For 20 years I’ve worked across education, professional services, energy, tourism and culture. I’ve reported to CEOs and led in both in-house and in consulting environments, bringing a practical, delivery-focused lens alongside strategic perspective. My work has included leading organisational change, strengthening safety and risk frameworks, improving workforce practices, and building people systems that support growth, compliance and performance. I’m known for simplifying complex people and safety issues, giving clear and direct advice, and building fair processes that are actually used. I believe kind leadership and strong results go together. When expectations are clear, systems work, and leaders are supported, performance, safety and culture improve. I see safety as commercial strategy. Healthier people, fewer incidents, and stronger operational outcomes are tightly linked. My approach integrates compliance, culture and capability so safety and wellbeing actively support business performance.
