I began my journey believing literature and mastering foreign languages would shape my career path. Yet, I discovered that being good at something doesn’t always mean it defines your purpose. A strong fascination with anything computer-related led me to explore Linux in 2005, igniting a passion that grew over time as I immersed myself in web technologies. At first, coding was a hobby. It wasn’t until I took Zed Shaw’s experimental Learn Code the Hard Way class that I realised I had a future in software development. This course built my foundation in Computer Science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms, and solidified my skills in Python, C, Ruby, and JavaScript. From there, I knew coding had to be more than a pastime. From 2019 to 2022, I worked as a Full Stack Developer at Pequity. During this time, I managed and maintained our infrastructure as well as being driven to write clean, accessible, and functional code. In 2022, I transitioned to a Platform Engineer role, where I started to contribute to writing essential Terraform code and setting up secure deployment pipelines as well as help change the infrastructure together with the awesome Platform team. I am constantly learning and this is what I love most about programming.
