• META (Machine Learning Ethics, Transparency, and Accountability) is a cross-functional team focused on investigating the fairness and transparency of Twitter’s automated algorithmic decision making systems. We believe in the power of bringing multiple perspectives together. META functions at the intersection of Machine Learning, Social Science, Policy, Legal, User Research and engages with numerous stakeholders across Twitter. Our mission is that Twitter’s ML systems are fair, transparent, and accountable. We have easy to use tools, well established investigation methodologies and frameworks to understand and mitigate the bias in our products powered by ML.

• Managed the Experts team, which contributed to Zapier's mission of democratizing automation by building features and workflows to help connect users to Zapier Experts.
• Drove effort to standardize the engineering hiring process and make the hiring pipeline more streamlined, efficient, and less prone to bias. Developed new questions, evaluation criteria, scoring templates, and leveling guides.

• Championed diversity, equity, and inclusion across the company. For example, analyzed profit sharing and showed that it increased our gender pay gap, and analyzed engineering promotion rates to show that women were being promoted at a slower rate.

• This was a personal project.
• Designed and created a Ruby on Rails web application for ultra endurance athletes to track nutrition, tasks, race progress, medications, vital signs, etc. during multi-day races.
• Supported setting race goals for various parameters (eg. calories/hour, fluid/hour, max/min time spent per day doing a particular task, etc.) and showed how you were doing in relation to the goals.
• Showed charts of the moving average for things like nutrition.
• Supported entering pacing goals and time cutoffs which could be used to calculate minimum average speed needed to meet goals/cutoffs as the race progressed.
• Ran the app as a local web server on a laptop during several ultra endurance races from 2012 to 2015, including three Race Across America races.
