  • Growth Messaging Experiences, July 2024 to present:
  • Manage a distributed team of 8-11 backend and full-stack engineers creating member facing messaging experiences to support growth and monetization efforts, Games, and Netflix Preview Club. The team operates in an agency model where engineers embed into many cross-functional project squads to build the messaging experiences needed (email, SMS, push, in-app, and in-product interstitials). Work with anywhere from 6-10+ product managers/stakeholders and their associated squads in parallel to support a wide variety of business priorities and projects. Collaborate with other Messaging Engineering teams working to build the next generation messaging platform and tooling that will enable messaging experiences to further scale, enabling self-serve and better developer experiences.
  • Contact Engineering, January 2023 - July 2024:
  • Managed a distributed team of 8-10 backend and full-stack engineers responsible for Netflix’s internal Customer Service systems used to support the streaming business. Maintained legacy first-party built services while leading a transition to integrate with vendor solutions for parts of the system. Initiated and enabled a large effort to modernize the parts of the system that would remain first-party built, including a 9+ month project to address technical debt and rewrite the member management system that CS agents use to access and modify member data. Developed a multi-year strategy to create a Customer Service ecosystem/platform that could expand to support other parts of the business, and facilitated the first such expansion by working with the Games organization to start onboarding them onto our systems. Collaborated with several Customer Service Product Managers and the Customer Service leadership team, as well as cross-functional partners in DSE, Privacy & Security, Games, Consumer Engineering, and external vendors.
