Yash Kumar Singh — Software Engineer

I’m Yash Kumar Singh, a Computer Science undergraduate and a former IIT Delhi Project Intern. I enjoy building web and mobile applications that are reliable, scalable, and actually useful for real people, with a strong focus on clean backend systems. I enjoy being involved throughout the process from shaping simple, intuitive UIs using React, Next.js, and React Native to building and maintaining backend services with Node.js, NestJS, Express, and Django, backed by PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL. I’m most comfortable when I can see how users interact with what I build and then improve the product based on that. A lot of my work has involved real-time systems, secure APIs, and event-driven features using WebSockets, authentication (JWT/OAuth), and solid validation practices. My background in Data Structures and Algorithms helps me think through problems carefully and write code that’s efficient and easy to maintain. I’ve also worked on AI-powered features where they genuinely make the experience better, not just for the sake of it. Some things I’ve built: TrueFare — a real-time ride-hailing app with fare bidding, live ride tracking, and driver–user communication CodeNotify — a contest alert platform that aggregates events from Codeforces, LeetCode, CodeChef, and AtCoder and sends personalized notifications Lunara — an AI chat application with real-time messaging, voice interaction, and context-aware conversations During my internship at IIT Delhi, I also worked on an Android application for an EV battery fault diagnosis system, where I integrated backend services and supported real-time data flow. I do well in fast-moving environments where there’s ownership, room to learn, and real impact. I regularly take part in hackathons, developer communities, and tech events because I genuinely enjoy learning, building, and getting better at my craft.
