About

I’m the Chief Technology Officer at 1Password, where I lead engineering and help shape product direction for our identity, AI, and developer platform initiatives. My career has largely been about building and scaling systems that start as infrastructure and eventually become security and identity platforms. I began working on large data systems in government, moved into network infrastructure at Google, helped build Rubrik’s early cloud and SaaS platform, and later founded and scaled AWS Data Protection into a multi-billion-dollar service protecting exabytes of enterprise data. Along the way I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how complex systems actually get built: the architecture decisions early on, the operational realities at scale, and the product choices that determine whether a platform becomes widely adopted or quietly disappears. I’m also a Venture Partner at Felicis, where I work with founders building infrastructure, security, and AI-native systems. At 1Password, our focus is extending identity security to a world where both humans and software agents access systems, data, and infrastructure.
