Vaitheeswaran Janakiraman — Software Engineer
I’m a systems and networking engineer at F5, working on cloud-native and DPU-based networking systems for Kubernetes environments. My work spans datapath, control plane, and routing layers, with an emphasis on building reliable and performant systems. Recently, I’ve been working on: • Datacenter networking protocols (BGP-EVPN, BGP Unnumbered, MPLS, BFD) • RFC-driven development of protocol servers, like for Neighbor Discovery. And also integrating it with real routing stacks (OcNOS, FRR). • Designing and building logging infrastructure, including dynamic log-level updates at runtime. • Root-causing and fixing complex, system-level bugs and release-blocking failures. I enjoy digging into messy systems and understanding why they fail and fixing them. Co-inventor on a few pending patents in the networking / distributed systems space. Open-source enthusiast, with contributions to the SODA Foundation.
