About

“Stop blaming the economy.” That’s the easy narrative in New Zealand right now. It’s harder to look at behaviour. I work with practical, hands-on teams across NZ — trades, operators, blue-collar workplaces. Many earn solid money. Most were never shown how to structure it properly. No clear plan. KiwiSaver confusion. No real safety net if something goes wrong. And stress that quietly follows them into work. Financial pressure doesn’t just affect home life. It shows up in focus, decision-making and performance. So I run workplace sessions focused on: • Financial foundations • Understanding how the system actually works • Building simple structure • Creating clarity around next steps The sessions aren’t about overwhelming people with information. They’re about giving them enough clarity to ask better questions. From there, I sit down one-on-one with anyone who wants to go deeper and put proper structure in place. Before this, I spent a decade in commercial account management. I’ve seen how personal stress bleeds into workplace performance. The economy matters. But structure matters more. If you run a practical NZ business and think financial stress might be sitting under the surface in your team — we should talk.

Commercial Activation Manager

Promoted

Jul 2021Feb 2024 · 2 yrs 7 mos

  • Led commercial activation strategy across Foodstuffs North Island and South Island, translating national brand plans into revenue-generating in-market execution.
  • Aligned Sales, Marketing and Supply against a single commercial outcome: profitable sell-through in a margin-sensitive retail environment.
  • Capability signals:
  • Drove activation planning and execution across NZ’s largest grocery co-operative network
  • Built disciplined forecasting models to manage seasonal demand volatility and reduce downside risk
  • Balanced promotional intensity with margin protection in a thin-category strategy
  • Identified execution gaps and restructured activation plans to lift compliance and ROI
  • Direct line management (1 report) + cross-functional leadership across commercial and supply teams
  • Learned to manage pressure inside a high-volume, low-margin system where incentives are rarely aligned — and execution failure shows up immediately in revenue.
