1. Employee Leave Automation Bot
Developed an automated leave tool for applying any leave using a command on Slack. This tool integrates with Razorpay for leave applications, updates Google Calendar with availability, and sends notifications to respective Slack channels.
A daily leave report is generated for cross-verification by the HR team.
The technology stack includes serverless architecture, Python, and AWS. We use a fan-out architecture (SNS and SQS) to asynchronously process leave requests and update all consumers, such as Razorpay and Google Calendar. GCP is used for accessing calendar and sheet services.
2. Database migration
Worked on migrating a Sybase database to Postgres. This project involves a medical software ecosystem for patient administration and communication. It includes sending DICOM images of patients to doctors in real-time, allowing immediate action without waiting for scans.
The development process started with creating schemas, triggers, and stored procedures required for the new database, followed by changing the connection layer to point to Postgres. Subsequently, all service layer changes accessing the database and queries were updated. Finally, functionality testing was performed to ensure the software behaved as it did previously.
The codebase includes Java, Python, SQL, Perl, CGI, and more. Clients have their iPods with configurations, databases, and services responsible for handling the software.
