• Trying to speed-run what was supposed to be a 6-month research fellowship in half the time (or less), hopefully with the help of A.I. as my army of tireless research assistants! But also employing ML/LLMs for OCR recognition on calligraphic/handwritten Chinese immigrant letters (侨批), translating dialects and classical Chinese text into English, topic modelling and doing data sonification for accessibility in a study titled "If Letters Home Could Sing". One can hope. Just very curious about what common people went through back in the day and bringing the stories buried in such intangible cultural heritage to life. 😊

• It was a tremendously fun learning experience - I wrote a play, exhibited a multimedia journalism project, organised a conference and dance concert, conducted empirical studies on the Chongqing housing market and whether the gender ratio imbalance explains the housing "bubble" in China... Looking forward to lifelong learning!
