About

I've spent the last 3 years making sure production doesn't become someone's emergency. Most of that time has been on AWS and Kubernetes. Writing Terraform, building pipelines, setting up alerting that actually pages the right person, and being on call when things go sideways. I've worked on SaaS products and a HIPAA healthcare platform so I'm used to both move fast and don't break compliance environments. Some things I'm proud of: got deploy times down 73% at one place, fixed a latency problem that dropped response times from 800ms to 120ms, and built a DR setup where we could restore everything in under an hour. Looking for a DevOps, SRE or platform engineering role where I can own infrastructure end to end. Remote-friendly or willing to relocate. US, Europe, Australia/NZ and India all work. AWS · Kubernetes · Terraform · Docker · Helm · GitHub Actions · Jenkins · Prometheus · Grafana · Fluent Bit · Vault · Redis · Bash · Python · CI/CD · IaC · SRE · DevOps · SAML · OIDC

  • Joined as an SE and gradually took on most of the cloud and platform work. Now I'm the person teams come to for anything infra, security or deployment related.
  • One of the bigger things I built here was a custom IAM system with RBAC from scratch. Three product teams use it now and we stopped paying for the third-party auth tool we were on before. Also rolled out Vault across all our services because we had secrets in .env files everywhere and that needed to stop.
  • Set up our full observability stack with Prometheus, Grafana and Zenduty and wired in SSO with Google and Microsoft. The SSO change alone cut login-related support noise by about 70%. Also wrote boilerplate templates that brought new project setup from nearly 3 days down to a few hours, which the team genuinely appreciated.

  • Healthcare platform so the reliability bar was higher than most places I'd worked. The main thing they needed was a proper backup and DR setup. Data was spread across S3, DynamoDB and Cognito and there was no tested restore process anywhere.
  • Built that from scratch with hourly snapshots and actually ran the restore drills. Got to under an hour RPO and two hours RTO. Also moved deployments fully onto Terraform Cloud which took us from weekly releases to daily and stopped the environment drift problem that was slowing the team down.
  • Added pre-merge CI gates so tests and builds had to pass before anything could merge. Post-merge failures dropped a lot after that. Did a cost pass at the end and got the AWS bill down about 20%.

  • Worked across the stack here. Backend APIs, AWS infra, CI/CD, and frontend work in React and Next.js depending on what the team needed.
  • The pipeline work made a real difference. Deploys were taking 45 minutes when I joined and we got that down to around 12. The latency problem was more interesting. Added Redis caching with proper invalidation logic and P95 response times went from about 800ms to 120ms on the busiest endpoints.
  • Also did weekend on-call rotations, wrote postmortems and fixed prod issues. Integrated PostHog for analytics and built out a dark mode and an AI chat interface on the frontend side.

  • First proper DevOps role and I was the only DevOps person for most of it so I had to get good at a lot of things quickly. Pipelines, Kubernetes, monitoring, cost, all of it. About 8 microservices running across AWS and DigitalOcean.
  • Built the CI/CD setup on Jenkins and GitHub Actions and deploy times went from 45 minutes to about 12. Also spent time on Docker build optimisation and got build times down 65% with multi-stage builds and better layer caching, which helped a lot with pipeline costs.
  • Set up Fluent Bit to ship structured logs from every K8s pod into Grafana and S3. Before that, debugging meant SSH-ing into boxes. Wired Prometheus alerts to Slack and P1s started getting noticed in under 2 minutes. Wrote Helm charts for 8 apps and knocked out a bunch of repetitive ops work with Bash scripts. Also mentored two interns and both got hired full time.

  • Built an OCR model in Python to extract data from Bills of Lading. The goal was to replace a manual data entry process and it ended up cutting the effort by around 60%. Used keyword-based parsing to pull structured fields out of unstructured shipping documents. Good first experience building something people actually relied on.
