After about 7.5 years working across Fintech, EdTech, and high-traffic event and experience platforms, I’ve learned that good systems are less about cleverness and more about clarity. When the architecture is right, everything else—performance, reliability, team velocity—tends to follow. I work primarily on backend and system design, with enough full-stack experience to understand how decisions ripple outward. I enjoy getting deep into distributed systems, designing APIs that are straightforward to use and hard to misuse, and helping teams untangle complexity without slowing them down. Some things I spend a lot of time doing: • Leading teams while staying hands-on, without becoming a bottleneck • Designing backend systems that are fast, reliable, and easy to reason about • Translating between product requirements and technical constraints • Working with AWS and cloud infrastructure in the real world (not just diagrams) • Turning messy product ideas into clear, implementable systems I’m currently exploring tech leadership roles where I can remain close to the code while also being involved in architectural and product decisions. Hobbies & Interests Outside of work, I enjoy experimenting with programming as a creative tool. I’ve built procedural and generative art projects in JavaScript, explored digital sculpting in Blender, and worked on both 2D and 3D prototyping in Unity—for commercial as well as personal projects. I’m particularly interested in using code to visualize abstract ideas, simulate physical systems, and explore how small rules lead to complex behavior. I’ve also written a chess engine (around ~1200 ELO on Lichess). It’s far from state-of-the-art, but it’s been a great sandbox for experimenting with search, evaluation, and long-term trade-offs. In general, I enjoy going both broader and deeper in software development, especially in web and backend systems.
