• Drove R&D and architecture for Onvio, a cloud-based tax and accounting platform used daily by accounting professionals across Europe to file returns and meet regulatory deadlines. Led engineering direction for the platform's modernization stream and owned architectural reviews.
• What I led:
• Architecture & technical direction. Led architectural discussions across R&D, product, and SRE — defining service boundaries, resiliency patterns, and the cloud-native target state. Mentored engineers via design reviews, RFCs, and pair programming.
• On-prem → Azure migration. Led lift-shift-and-rearchitect of core services to AKS with Helm-templated deployments and GitOps delivery (ArgoCD). Cut deployment lead time from days to under an hour.
• Scale for tax-season peaks. Sized the platform for filing-window spikes using AKS HPA + KEDA autoscaling on Azure Service Bus queue depth; eliminated backlog incidents during deadlines.
• API latency cut 40%+. ElasticSearch index/query redesign and an Azure Cache for Redis layer on hot read paths.
• Agentic workflows. Built LLM-powered agentic flows on Azure OpenAI for document classification, return validation, and accountant-assist features — reducing manual triage.
• Resiliency & data consistency. Saga + Outbox on Azure Service Bus / Event Hub; Polly-based circuit breaker, retry, and bulkhead policies.
• Observability. OpenTelemetry + Application Insights + Azure Monitor with SLO dashboards and error budgets — MTTR down ~35%.
