  • PIs: Frank Bates, Kevin Dorfman, and David Morse
  • Utilizing GPUs to accelerate self-consistent field theory (SCFT) calculations:
  • Accelerated the numerical solver for non-linear partial differential equations using GPUs. The program was written in C++ with GPU accelerated code in CUDA. Speed-ups of up to 120 times were achieved as compared to the previous CPU implementation.
  • Micellar phases formed in asymmetric diblock copolymers:
  • Classical coarse-grained molecular dynamics is being used to study the phase behavior of asymmetric diblock copolymer chains. The structural and dynamics of the phases are being studied using stand-alone programs in C++/python.
