• This team worked on the CAN-SBX project which aimed to collaboratively develop and design a payload as a team to investigate the impact of radiation exposure on transcription rates and gene expression in B. subtilis bacteria. The payload was launched on a Stratospheric Platform provided by the Canadian Space Agency. My role:
• Led electrical and firmware development for a high-altitude stratospheric satellite launched with the Canadian Space Agency, integrating power distribution, telemetry, and radiation-sensor systems.
• Designed and verified PCB and embedded control systems using C/C++ and Python, improving
• data-acquisition reliability by >30% under EMI and temperature-stress testing.
• Implemented automated communication and fault-detection protocols across flight and ground subsystems, reducing integration time by 40% and ensuring full-mission telemetry success.
• We Successfully launched in June 2024 from the CSA Timmins Base
