Wan-Yu Syau — Software Engineer

Hi, I am Wan-Yu Syau. I graduated from National Tsing Hua University(Taiwan) with both Bachelor's and Master's degree in Power Mechanical Engineering. While I working on my Master's degree, I spent two years in Computation Intelligence Laboratory(CILab). CILab is led by Dr. Chuan-Kang Ting, and the general research directions of CILab are as follows. - Evolutionary Computation - Artificial Intelligence - Intelligent Machinery and Manufacturing - Machine Learning My master thesis is mainly related to operations research, evolutionary computation and intelligent manufacturing. In addition to my thesis, I participated in one project from Ministry of Science Technology. In this project, we made use of the following approaches to deal with the path optimization problems for mechanical drilling and laser drilling. - Parallelized Local Search Algorithm - Multi-Objective Optimization Approach(NSGA II) In the last year of this project, we collected data from laser drilling experiments, and used different machine learning methods to build models for predicting the features of products under different parameters. During the six years in NTHU, I had almost two years of experience being a teaching assistant in the following four courses: - Introduce to Artificial Intelligence - Introduce to AI and Big Data - Programming Design - Control System I In order to be a qualified TA, I must fully understand course content and ensure I'm capable of clearly and correctly answering students' questions or giving lecture. In the past year, I have been on exchange in Information Science at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology(Germany). I mainly learned German and took courses here, i.e. Machine Learning, Machine Vision and Practical Course: General-purpose Computation on GPU. In this practical course, I used Vulkan to realize particle simulation and cloth simulation.
