About

I'm Aakash Ahuja, and for over 20 years I've been building technology at global scale (translation: breaking things at scale, then fixing them before anyone noticed). At 17, I saw a job ad in The Economic Times for a software engineer in Dubai. The pay was astronomical for a small-town boy like me, so I had to ask: what are these people doing, coding gold? Back then, Google wasn't an option — so I just kept asking around. The more I learned about engineers solving problems with nothing but a keyboard, the more it felt like sorcery. One keystroke, one spell, and suddenly the world behaves differently. I was hooked. So even though I graduated as an Electrical Engineer from NIT Raipur, my heart defected to software early on. That decision dragged me (willingly) through banking, consulting, and global enterprises, where each year came with a tougher challenge and the occasional "why did I say yes to this project?" moment. By 25, I had designed a global Disaster Recovery system for a bank — which is a polite way of saying, "if something blew up, I had to make sure billions didn't vanish." Later, I discovered efficient algorithms for distributed data processing, hacked together autonomous bots powered by Reinforcement Learning (before GPT was cool), and somehow ended up on government committees helping shape India's AI future. Today, I serve as Director of Technology & Cybersecurity at itmtb Technologies, where we build large-scale cloud and AI solutions. At itmtb, our mission is pretty straightforward: build tech that actually works, scales without drama, and solves real problems — not imaginary ones invented for slide decks. What drives me is the same thing that lit me up at 17 — the belief that good technology, built right, really can shape a better future. (And yes, I still think of it as magic. The wand just looks like a laptop now.) I write at https://aakashx.com.

  • Software is a living thing. It can do things for you, governed by rules it can decide on its own, it can fail, it can succeed. And if done right, it can be immensely useful.
  • That is what we started doing with itmtb. We started with Prospareto, the smart, unified solution for investors. And now we are doing this for our customers who want us to build custom software for them.
  • We have our own low code IPs, quality frameworks, and a very passionate team who enjoys working with each other.
  • Specialising in Cloud, AI, Large Scale Enterprise Applications and Cybersecurity, we have built software for various industries, in India and abroad alike. And like always there were two common denominators - our passion of building something awesome for our customers, and them loving what we built.
  • What would you have us build for you?
  • Business domains: Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Pharma R&D, Venture Capital, Hyperlocal Retail, Pharma, Food-tech, Finance, Capital markets, Fintechs, Regulatory Frameworks

On a sabbatical to automate and enhance my manual derivatives research which consumed a lot of time

Aug 2018Oct 2019 · 1 yr 2 mos

  • Took a sabbatical to grow skills in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and automate my derivatives research.
  • This resulted in creation of a Reinforcement Learning bot which I named Saraswati, after the goddess of knowledge.
  • Saraswati is a cloud based, artificially intelligent solution that fully automates most of my activities in secondary markets. It performs data collection, analysis, cleansing, pattern detection, generating and scoring recommendations, portfolio monitoring. Augmented with cognitive capabilities through artificial intelligence at its core, it can generate much more accurate and timely alerts.
  • Saraswati saves me over 1100 person-hours annually now.
