Thesis Title: Improving Brain Tumor Segmentation Using Synthetic Images from GANs.
Produced synthetic images using NVIDIA’s Progressive growing GANs by using the BRaTS2020 dataset. Built a CNN model for 2D brain tumor image segmentation. Trained models with different amounts of real and synthetic images and using traditional augmentation methods. Evaluated the significance between models by using statistical tests. Performed uncertainty estimation of the deep neural networks.

Models: Modified Progressive growing Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and U-Net.
