• Worked on a Study Project under Associate Prof Yashvardhan Sharma of the Computer Science and Information Systems Department, BITS Pilani ( Pilani Campus ) throughout the semester. The project had the objective of analysing the previously proposed models for Question-Answering Systems based on NLP and coming up with a new Deep Learning Model for significant improvements in accuracy, speed and F1 score. The datasets of SQUAD v1.0 and 2.0 were used for training an attention model based on the BERT encoder and transformers . Pytorch was used as the primary framework. Aimed to reach a level of complexity where the model could itself filter insincere questions based on various parameters before answering the query.
• This task was integrated to make a web application-based chatbot to respond to user queries by scraping a library of contexts and finding the most suitable answer.
• A supplementary functionality of Question classification into ten standard classes (like Education, Technology, etc) was also added using an SVM-based model trained using the Yahoo Answers Topic Classification dataset.
