  • Design, analysis and implementation of DSP algorithms for audio processing on floating- point and fixed-point digital signal processing (DSP) processors. I worked on 2 projects:
  • 1) Audio beam system (ABS): for generating directional sound. It used several proprietary modulation schemes in the pre-processing step to reduce distortion. It also used several audio processing algorithms in conjunction with ABS (dynamic range controller, virtual bass system) to enhance the listening experience.
  • 2) Immersive 3D Audio (I3DA): combines directional loudspeakers with conventional loudspeakers to create a highly immersive audio experience. The spatial cues are extracted and projected through ABS whereas the ambiance signal is fed to conventional loudspeakers.
  • My role included:
  • a) Simulating algorithms on MATLAB.
  • b) Implementing algorithms on Texas Instruments (TIs) floating-point (C67x series) and
  • fixed-point (C55x series) DSPs.
  • b) Validating implemented algorithms against MATLAB simulated golden output.
  • d) Benchmarking MIPs and memory results.
  • e) Code optimization.
