At Coupang, I’m spearheading the rearchitecture of our next-gen WMS, blending Temporal, Akka, and ISA-95 into a cohesive platform for fulfillment, inventory, and operations. This effort improves system resilience, enables late binding for order reservation, enhances inventory provenance, and externalizes location recommendations for machine learning use cases.
A key focus of my role is the development of a new Inventory Tracking Service (ITS) using an Event-Sourced CQRS framework powered by Akka. This resilient and reactive microservice architecture is built to scale to millions of transactions per second (TPS), enabling real-time management of inventory across Coupang's fulfillment centers. The system supports order fulfillment at scale, handling more than 100 million units per day.
