  • At bik.ai, I worked on improving system performance and reliability across large-scale data and messaging systems. One of my major contributions was restructuring a 1TB Elasticsearch cluster by splitting it into multiple 100GB indices and moving 95%+ of 1B+ documents to warm nodes using ILM. This helped eliminate query timeouts and reduced infrastructure cost by 56% ($1700/month) while also improving stability under peak traffic.
  • I also worked on optimizing our broadcast system by batching customer lists and processing them in parallel. Along with idempotency checks to avoid duplicate sends, this significantly reduced latency and cut unnecessary database load. As a result, campaign deliverability improved by 40% and broadcast failures dropped by 80%.
  • For segmentation, I introduced a caching approach that removed the need for heavy direct Elasticsearch queries, which made customer targeting and drip campaigns much faster and prevented runtime failures.
