Sas

IT Intern

Jun 2018Aug 2018 · 2 mos · Cary, North Carolina

  • Summer technical intern working in IT, specifically in Hosting Ops. I focused on two main projects during my 10 weeks at SAS. I had the opportunity to work on a highly secure environment and help maintain its security by converting information (regarding hardware/software that was going to be implemented) in Word Documents into a form that could be reviewed and approved quickly, utilizing a ticketing system called ServiceNow. I also had the opportunity to work on the Warranty Automation Project, which is a program in Linux and Python that parses data that SAS' various vendors send in order to update a database and then a system that employees can view. Employees are able to view the warranty information on their equipment that they use at SAS because of this project. Apart from exploring different aspects of IT, Hosting Ops, and more, I was able to network and communicate with managers, and create lasting friendships with other interns. I was also exposed to and able to learn so much about SAS and its culture. I have learned so much during my summer at SAS, and I am so thankful for my experience here.
