Ben Wilson — CEO
I serve as President of National Grid Ventures (NGV), Chief US External Affairs Officer, and a member of National Grid’s Executive Committee. I oversee US policy, regulatory strategy, and external affairs, while leading NGV’s activities across the United States, the UK, and Europe. NGV is the commercial arm of National Grid plc, developing and operating a diverse portfolio of energy assets, including the world’s largest network of high voltage subsea interconnectors, competitive transmission, LNG storage, battery storage, solar, and conventional generation. Based in Washington, DC, I work at the center of US energy policy and legislation, closely engaged with policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders across our service territories. I joined National Grid in 2021 as Chief Strategy and Regulation Officer and became President of NGV in 2024. Prior to that, I was CEO of Australian Gas Infrastructure Group, one of Australia’s largest utility infrastructure companies, and previously served as Director of Strategy & Regulation and CFO at UK Power Networks, serving more than 8 million customers. Earlier in my career, I spent 15 years as an energy and utilities investment banker, primarily across Europe and Asia.
