After completing my Masters in Computer Application with OUTSTANDING grades and topping the college passing out batch, I joined a small organisation called PubMatic with 40 engineers. At times involved in more than 2 projects at a time. Designed and implemented couple of generic frameworks to send data to UI in defined format which was adopted by 12 different teams across and had capability to generate 8 different graphs and tabular reports. Carried this same enthusiasm and mantle into next venture in Investment Banking with Citigroup. Banking rules and regulations are very tough to incorporate in software and should work seamlessly. This taught me risk management, security, compliance in software industry. I could help in migrating code repository from svn to GitHub. My current role at AppDirect is of a tech lead. My daily job includes diverse set of tasks including planning, designing, mentoring, cross team collaboration, requirement gathering and analysis as well coding and implementing some of the complex features. I have also worked on many of the initiatives at AppDirect. The biggest one would be introducing Kafka as a daily driver in AppDirect ecosystem. Fought too hard to get this going and ultimately it has proved a success. Now we are in the process of migrating all RabbitMq based integrations over Kafka and I have been guiding teams with this Kafka onboarding, defining guidelines and architecture for same. Other initiatives would be NoSql, large scale data handling using apache Kafka and cold storage based out of AWS S3 and MongoDB data lake. Not just this I have been constantly involved with DevOps team on some of the initiatives they take like, moving onto latest and greatest CI/CD infra. Few Skills/Interest acquired over this period : Java, RDBMS, NoSql, MySql, MongoDB, OOPS, RESTful web-services, Data Structures, Apache Kafka, Kafka streams/state store/connect, Schema Registry, Apache Flink, Prometheus, Grafana, SignalFx, Datadog. Apart from all software building, I also like to paint and sketch whenever possible. I have a sketch book maintained since my childhood, a very priced possession for me. I love cooking, If I am not coding, I may be in kitchen doing daily cooking or trying out new dishes. My second most favourite past time is exploring space, not literally but virtually via all mediums possible. I love outer space and facts it has to present with all its vastness and glory. Ending with a quote from astrophysicist and cosmologist Carl Sagan "We're made of star stuff. We are a way for the cosmos to know itself."
