• Built upon the following findings: functional MRI neurofeedback research has shown that a subcortical brain structure, the posterior cingulate cortex (PCC), is deactivated during periods of meditation and activated during mind-wandering and states of mental tension (e.g. discontentment, striving, or anxiety).
• So, we used EEG neurofeedback experiments to target PCC activity on roughly 60 experienced and novice meditators. Our ultimate goal was to build a portable, accurate, and cost-effective EEG headset that could reliably measure and provide real-time feedback on optimal brain states.

• The Wediko Summer Program is an outdoor, 45-day therapeutic residential program, serving boys and girls (ages 9-19) with emotional and behavioral difficulties. • While students are with us, we work closely with the family and professionals to stabilize students emotionally and help them thrive. I personally worked with mental health professionals and built relationships with the students via the mountain biking class I taught.
