About

I use LinkedIn as a work diary: notes from the messy middle of building marketing at a startup. Right now I lead marketing at Proton.ai, a Series A startup in Boston. I started as the first product marketer and, somewhere along the way, became a manager of a growing team. Before Proton, I was the first PMM at Rewind and helped take the company from Seed through Series B ($80M raised). Even earlier, I bootstrapped two ecommerce businesses in university that grew into 7-figure revenue. What I share here are real notes from the field on: → Scaling yourself from IC to manager → Running scrappy marketing when resources are thin → How AI is actually changing sales and marketing (beyond the hype) If you’re figuring out some of the same things, follow along.

  • Promoted to Head of Marketing, I’ve grown the team from 1 to 8 across content marketing, product marketing, field marketing, and business development. Together, we're focused on making sure no distributor buys a CRM without looking at Proton. In marketing speak, we generate pipeline that converts. As part of the executive team, I help shape company strategy and growth bets.

Senior Product Marketing Manager

  • Drawn by Proton's mission to change the distribution industry, I joined as the company's first Product Marketer. Reporting directly to the CEO, I was initially responsible for our messaging and positioning, and laying the foundation for our content strategy. I also built our release process so our customer base was well-informed about product improvements and internal teams were educated on the updates.

Product Marketing Manager

Sep 2019Jul 2022 · 2 yrs 10 mos

  • As a Shopify store owner myself, Rewind’s mission hit home: keeping mission-critical data safe for online businesses. That’s what pulled me in. As Product Marketing Manager, I rolled up my sleeves and got to do a lot:
  • Led GTM across four products in two verticals. Worked hand-in-hand with Demand Gen, Growth, Product, Content, Sales, and Support to hit ambitious goals without getting stuck in silos.
  • Talked to 100+ customers. Pulled insights to build ICPs, refine personas, shape messaging, and arm our sales team with enablement that mapped to the buyer’s journey. We saw a 110% jump in MQL → Closed Won conversion.
  • Built sales battlecards. Dug deep into competitor research and translated it into tools the sales team actually used.
  • Created 150+ assets. Everything from case studies and webinars to product videos and blog posts, all focused on helping customers and prospects see real value.
  • Launched creative campaigns. From the Cover Your SaaS video game to our Product Hunt launch for Backups for Trello to a BFCM Virtual Summit, I built programs that positioned Rewind as the go-to backup and recovery app and got interested prospects in the door.

  • In the summer of 2016, I accepted an internship in Moscow, focusing on strategic planning for brands like PepsiCo, Nescafe, and Carlsberg. Tasked with deep market segment research, my role involved becoming "the voice of the consumer" in our creative briefs. I delved into consumer pain points and buying behaviors, helping to shape campaign strategies. This stint at Leo Burnett ignited my passion for product marketing and the power of tailored messaging.

Parcelly

Co-Founder

May 2015Jan 2019 · 3 yrs 8 mos · Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

  • Starting Parcelly while still in university was an exhilarating rollercoaster of challenges and insights. The idea was born from my own difficulties in finding just the 'right' gifts for friends who lived miles away. As a Co-Founder, I wore multiple hats, overseeing product design, marketing, financial planning, and supply chain management.
  • The journey wasn't without its mistakes—there were plenty—but each one provided invaluable lessons that steepened my learning curve. Over the course of two years, those lessons translated into a flourishing e-commerce business that generated 6-figure annual revenue. We attracted a diverse clientele, from individual consumers to corporate giants like Shopify, Kate Spade, Shake Shack, Lays, and Chanel.
  • Three years into our journey, we expanded our portfolio by launching a sister brand, The Pencil Boutique Co., diversifying our product range and market reach.
  • While I've stepped back from daily operations, both Parcelly and The Pencil Boutique Co. continue to serve a growing customer base and maintain a steady stream of annual revenue.
