I’m a backend engineer and Tech Lead building high-volume FinTech systems at Revfin. I actually started out studying Civil Engineering at IIT Patna, but quickly realized I enjoyed building distributed software systems a lot more than physical infrastructure. For the last couple of years, my focus has been on scaling up architecture. I specialize in breaking down tightly coupled monoliths into resilient, event-driven microservices. I like getting into the weeds of HLD/LLD - figuring out how to handle idempotency, set up circuit breakers, and optimize MongoDB aggregations when the databases start hitting millions of records. Right now, I lead a small team of developers where I handle architecture reviews, manage our deployment pipelines, and try to make sure we're writing clean, fault-tolerant code that actually moves the needle for the business. I lead backend architecture and manage a team of developers to build and scale Revfin's core lending and payment platforms. My day-to-day involves taking ownership of system design, architecture reviews, and moving our infrastructure toward a more resilient, event-driven model.
A few things I’ve built and scaled here:
🔹 Scaled Co-Lending Infrastructure: Re-architected tightly-coupled loan origination APIs into a resilient, 6-stage stateful pipeline (using idempotent retries and config-driven state machines). This enabled us to onboard new lender partners with zero code changes, pushed our transaction success rate to 99.5%, and currently drives over ₹50Cr in monthly disbursals.
🔹 Optimized Underwriting (Rule Engine): Designed and engineered a multi-stage dependency-chain rule engine to evaluate 20+ lender-specific business rules. Processed 10,000+ applications/month and slashed underwriting turnaround time (TAT) from ~4 hours to under 30 minutes with zero-downtime versioning.
🔹 Architected Event-Driven Systems: Built an end-to-end Tele-Verification platform coupling AWS SNS/SQS with Socket.IO for real-time updates. Implemented multi-tenant data isolation and a custom 3-layer circuit breaker, cutting manual verification effort by ~40%.
🔹 High-Volume Payment Processing: Scaled centralized payment microservices using AWS SQS for asynchronous webhook handling. Heavily optimized MongoDB aggregation pipelines across 3 million+ historical records to securely process 150,000+ multi-modal payment events monthly.
🔹 Technical Leadership & CI/CD: Lead architecture reviews, manage Docker/PM2 deployments across QA to Production, and enforce fault-tolerant design patterns (Zod validation, atomic locking) across both monolithic and microservice boundaries.
