• Studied and compared two types of blood cancers, Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and Non-hodgkin lymphoma.
• Maintained 21 different leukaemia and lymphoma cell lines along with 9 other t(8;21) deficient clones for targeting DNA repair.
• Worked on current chemotherapeutic drugs like Etoposide, Cytoarabine (Ara-C), Mitoxantrone, PARP inhibitor and Radiation therapy.
• Techniques that were used included Microscopic investigation, use of haematocytometer, cell counting assays, XXT assay, Microarray technology to detect the malignant genes, DNA, RNA extraction, cloning, RT-PCR and qRT-PCR.
• Genome sequencing, gene cloning, western blot analysis, data collection and analysis on different drug treatments.
• Maintained and recorded all scientific data related to this project and a poster has been presented at Newcastle medical student’s conference.
