Dhruv “DJ” Jain — CEO
I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, also affiliated with the School of Information and Michigan Medicine. My research intersects in human-computer interaction (HCI) and Machine Learning (ML) for healthcare and accessibility applications. I direct the Soundability lab, where I am joined by a passionate group of students and collaborators with an aim to design interactive systems to deliver better sonic experiences for everyone. I was also the ACM SIGCHI VP for Accessibility, where I oversaw the executive committee policy and accessibility of over 27 leading HCI conferences. I completed my masters from MIT Media Lab and PhD from University of Washington. I’ve also worked at Apple, Google, and Microsoft Research, where I have influenced the accessibility of products that are in the hands of more than 100 million users. Broadly, I care about UX design and AI for societal impact.
