I studied a plethora of technical subjects but the ones I enjoyed the most were- engineering mathematics, probability, statistics, SQL, python, and machine learning. I worked on live projects, completed courses on C, C++ and Python and attended various technical workshops to explore different branches of computer science like data analytics, data science, front-end web development and computer networks, and discovered my interest in the field of data science. Apart from my academics, I’ve been an avid football enthusiast and I like going to the gym. To further upskill myself and explore this emerging field of data science, I combined my passion for football and my aspiration to become a data scientist to work on a sports analytics project by “Mad About Sports”- a sports tech first educational platform. The workshop conducted a football analytics project, in which I cleaned raw data and analyzed performance on the pitch using NumPy, Pandas and Matplotlib libraries, to rate their performance on a scale of 1-10. The factors considered for the analysis included but were not limited to number of touches, passes and successful dribbles, pass accuracy, key passes, number of duels won, total shots, and shots on target. The workshop helped me improve my technical skills and more importantly It helped me develop the ability to derive insights from data. I also successfully completed a summer internship at “Verzeo Edtech” where I worked on a live data science project for “Zebo.AI” a start up in the healthcare space providing an AI based dermatology platform to its end users. I developed a web application using python that allowed the users to scan their face to recognize any potential aging signs. I implemented this utility using python libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib and Dlib (for facial recognition). I'm currently pursuing the IBM Data Science professional certificate course along with the Data Scientist industrial training program (devtown co-powered by KPMG) to gain an advanced knowledge on the data science domain.
