Computer Science graduate from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus. I have keen interest in building new software and how things work. Currently working as Software Engineer at Eightfold.ai Worked on several distributed microservices to build systems for the firstmile of Flipkart's supply chain. Provided backend services to our agents for handling shipments at seller doorstep, bringing it into Flipkart ecosystem and rerouting it further upstream. This included planning their trips and managing systems at the pickup hubs, finding the most optimal seller pickup hub mappings. Developed several microservices which used several SQL and noSQL based datastores. Built and maintained the systems working in multiple JAVA based services which communicated in sync and async manner Wrote several scripts to manage systems and automated several Managed their CI/CD pipelines, calibrated on the resources required for k8 based systems. I have a keen interest in building new software and understanding how things work. I have also gained valuable experience in agile software practices and corporate software development through my previous roles as an ASDE2 at Publicis Sapient, where I worked as a contingent for Goldman Sachs, and as an intern at VMware, where I worked on a software-based solution to replace physical NVDIMM with cheaper DRAM and software-based non-volatile RAM.

Developer in firstmile team of Flipkart’s supply chain.
OTC for externalisation. OTCs were generated at per seller level to verify a agent’s work at seller doorstep and were sent to seller portal. External sellers did not have seller portal.
· Additional communication methods were integrated to send OTC.
· OTC adherence reduces shipment theft and seller’s false claims. Adherence went up from 45% to near 100% in several verticals
API optimisations in several critical flows: This exercise was aimed to make the systems scalable for the expected load for next several years.
· Optimised use of cascade to reduce number of DB queries from 30k to less than 10 in some cases. Peak DB QPS was reduced from 120K to 30K
· Latency dropped from 4-5 mins to 5sec for several get count APIs for live dashboards
· Latency improvements around 50% observed in several flows due to change in query plans, restructuring APIs
Scaling DBs. Our DBs were SQL based and provided limited scope for horizontal scaling. Shipment store DB was reaching 3TB size beyond which vertical scaling was not affordable.
· Introduced warm store, deprecated tables, purging short-lived transaction data
· Long term solve: migrated from SQL to TiDB noSQL datastore for our shipment store. Modified several APIs, their DB query execution strategies to ensure scalability without taking a major hit on latencies. Used TiDB as it is compatible with MySQL based statements thus minimising functional impact
Tripsheet creation scaling. During sale (BBD), shipment count per trip increased to 1L per seller for some sellers. This was resulting in timeouts during tripsheet creation and delay in picking up shipments. Added async flows for shipment level operations
Agent app backup to GCP to ensure agents do not have to rescan shipments
Introduced fail safe mechanisms like circuit breakers, rate limiting, API timeouts to safe guard the systems from degradation as well as easily recover post degradation
