About

Hannah Hembree Bell founded her law firm out of a deeply personal mission: to change the way families experience divorce. She began her career at a prestigious large firm in San Antonio, handling cases for major corporate clients. But it didn’t take long for Hannah to realize her heart was elsewhere. Inspired by her own painful divorce and custody battle, she made the bold leap to leave Big Law behind and start a different kind of practice. She launched Hembree Bell Law Firm with a vision of guiding clients through divorce, custody disputes, and estate planning with both top-notch legal skill and genuine compassion. What began as a solo practice at her kitchen table quickly grew into a multi-million-dollar family law firm serving clients across Texas. From day one, Hannah’s mission has been clear: to help others emerge from one of life’s darkest moments with dignity, stability, and hope. She often says that at Hembree Bell Law, “we help marriages end well.” That motto is more than a tagline – it’s a commitment to handling divorces in a better way, giving clients the support and tools to start their next chapter stronger than before. By her mid-twenties, she was a mother of three juggling diapers and deadlines. She commuted to St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio while raising her young children, often managing long drives and late-night study sessions after bedtime routines. Commuting to law school with three small kids in tow was no easy feat, but Hannah approached it the same way she does everything – with grit, heart, and a fierce vision for a better future. In the middle of all this, Hannah faced a life-altering crisis: her own divorce and custody battle. At one point, she even lost custody of her children temporarily. But with unwavering faith and the help of a powerful attorney, she reclaimed her story and her family. That experience fueled her mission: to become the kind of lawyer she so desperately needed back then. The one who listens. The one who cares. The one who never gives up. Hannah holds an MBA from Liberty University and earned her JD from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Today, she leads a team of dedicated attorneys and staff as the founder of Hembree Bell Law Firm, with offices in Austin and San Antonio. Hannah has been featured as one of the Top Attorneys in Austin by Austin Monthly, a Best Lawyer in San Antonio by San Antonio Magazine, and an Outstanding Woman in Law. She’s also been honored as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, and her firm was ranked #6 nationwide on the Law Firm 500 list for fastest growth.

  • I volunteer weekly for Volunteer Legal Services, providing pro bono legal advice and direction to Central Texans. Through my time with VLS, I have even taken on full custody litigation matters for families in desperate need of help but without the resources to afford legal services through conventional methods.
  • My time with VLS has become a cornerstone of my legal career. I see it as a concrete way I can do my part to bridge the justice gap between those in need of representation but without sufficient resources to secure legal services on their own. I am honored to be part of such an incredible organization.

  • I am a zealous advocate for families, providing family law and estate planning solutions for real families.
  • Family Law: I help clients navigate the tumultuous waters of divorce and custody disputes. My clients know that I’ve sat where they’re sitting—and that experience allows me to craft creative solutions that actually work. I fight hard, but I fight smart and with the end goal in mind. I take the time to “get into the weeds” with my clients, knowing that a one-size-fits-all approach won’t cut it. My clients are often facing the most difficult, trying times in their lives. It is my honor to walk with them through that process, blending empathy, counsel, and advocacy in equal parts.
  • Estate Planning: Thinking about our own mortality is not an easy subject for most people. Many families I know take a "we'll worry about that later" approach to their estate plan, letting it remain a nagging worry for years. I work with clients to convert that to-do list item into an estate plan that fits their family's specific situation (and budget).
