• The project is the implementation of OCPP 1.6. It involved the development of a web app (in React) and the Android app (using Java and SpringBoot).
• The Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) is an initiative led by the Open Charge Alliance (OCA). It is an open communication protocol that allows electric vehicle charging stations and central management software to communicate with each other. OCPP enables interoperability between charging stations, vehicles, and station management services. In the past decade, there has been an explosion of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging service providers. Many of these early providers chose to build proprietary, closed networks of charging stations. As a result, EV drivers need to carry a dedicated card or mobile application for each network they want to access. In the coming years, roaming through OCPP will enable drivers to charge at any open network through a single user and billing account.
