• Worked in eBay Marketplaces as a part of Monetization Team.
• We manage a global billing platform which handles very high transaction volumes of 100 Million events per day, subscriptions across 30 sites worldwide, 28 billing currencies, payments integrated via Direct Debit, Credit Card and PayPal methods, seller invoices and communication in 15 languages across the globe.
• Project: Risky Seller Prediction – Some sellers in eBay do not pay eBay fees. This project was to identify these sellers at early stage and apply trading limit restrictions on them.
• 1) Worked on this as my side project. Engineered features for the model and cutting down on useless ones, built the automatic data pipeline and model generation using Weka Api, built visualizations for understanding data using R and passive validation of production data.
• 2) Experimented with data in multiple ways to validate seasonality factor and seller segmentation based on GMV.
• 3) Target was to get higher precision as we do not want to penalize genuine seller. I got 87.6% as precision and recall of 58.8% using Random forest.
• 4) Worked with Srijith Sreedharan, Data Scientist, Monetization to optimize the results
• Project: Krylov - AI platform that empowers eBay’s data science and engineering teams
• 1) First contributor to Krylov repo, outside of Krylov team
• 2) Understood the project and contributed to the project by submitting PR’s for new code, bug fixes, documentation and unit tests.

• Project: eBay Plus – eBay’s solution for Amazon Prime in Germany
• 1) Worked on backend components of eBay Plus related to billing and payments.
• 2) Implemented and delivered the critical vat service, which calculates vat rate within 20 ms based on multiple criteria like country, state, site, product type, tax slab etc.
• 3) Developed account service, which provides summary and detail for multiple clients based on filters. Clients on an average call this service 1.5 million times a day.
• Project: Mobile Invoice – Responsive invoice for mobile users to improve seller NPS
• 1) Full ownership of mobile invoice project from frontend to backend. Released single handedly in US, UK & DE just before moratorium with no bugs.
• 2) Built in highly scalable way, on an average 2.5 million users are visiting these pages monthly.
• 3) Also, worked on analytics perspective and tried to build some intelligence around payments and past due using Pig.
