About

Tech leader with 14+ years of experience scaling engineering teams, launching innovative products, and driving AI initiatives from strategy to execution. Passionate about building foundational tech like long-term memory systems for agents. I've led diverse engineering teams from 3 to 30 people, delivered breakthrough solutions like Afterpay's In-store payment experience, and spearheaded AI integrations across ventures at Paloma. Skilled in rapid prototyping and comfortable with React Native, Typescript, Python, and emerging tech stacks using LLM assisted tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other coding agents. I thrive in environments that combine cutting-edge research with real-world impact. My core principles: 1. Get shit done. 2. Make it simpler. 3. Understand people, then build tech. Open to senior IC and management roles in AI-focused, remote-friendly orgs offering strong compensation, equity, and intellectually stimulating challenges.

  • Trineo has built Karabiner to make Salesforce deployments between different environments (or "orgs") a breeze for the non-developer folks (i.e. admins).
  • The value proposition of this product relies heavily on offering users an intuitive user experience (UX) with a sleek user interface (UI).
  • As such, I was tasked with using the feedback from the private beta to give the UI a facelift and enhance the UX to ensure that the product is intuitive for even the most non-technical users - before the gates are flung open to the wider market as part of a public launch.
  • The initial expectation was for this to be a pure React.js frontend role, however, the majority of enhancements and bug fixes required work to be done on the Ruby on Rails backend as well - a challenge that I gleefully accepted 😁.

Crimson education

React Native Consultant (Contract)

Jan 2018Feb 2018 · 1 mo · Auckland, New Zealand

  • Crimson needed someone to give their team of React engineers a jump start on the React Native platform - and that's where I came into the picture.
  • Within 4 weeks - working with a team of 4 (3 engineers and a tester) - we set up the build pipelines for both the iOS and Android apps and got them to a stage where the other engineers could jump on and start committing code which would then be built, bundled, signed and then get sent to our beta distribution platform, by the CI/CD pipeline.
  • From there the testers could take over by downloading the beta versions onto their devices and running a combination of automated and manual tests to ensure a robust outcome.
  • Crimson's team of engineers were more than capable of diving head first into React Native on their own. However, my inclusion allowed us to significantly cut down the time and the uncertainty involved and deliver something that reused the business logic from the web app while also leveraging the existing build processes.
