As an applied AI engineer, I'm crafting the systems which take AI from theory to practical application. I bring not only a background in engineering and systems thinking, but also clarity and focus shaped by monastic training and coaching — helping me approach challenges with both rigor and perspective. My fascination with technology runs deep. I built robots in elementary school, competed in cybersecurity tournaments in high school, and earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering before qualifying as an engineering officer in the U.S. Navy's nuclear program. In the Navy, I led 30 technicians operating a $900M nuclear plant that trained ~1,200 operators annually — gaining exceptional experience managing critical infrastructure in high-pressure environments. Today, I build full-stack software systems, specializing in backend, infrastructure, and AI/ML applications. I’ve also lived as a monk in a temple. I chose that path because I knew that the world moves fast, and that I wouldn’t experience real stillness unless I carved it out for myself. That experience taught me the power of cultivating presence, focus, and depth. I no longer live in a temple, but I still carry those foundations into everything I do. I’ve studied coaching, communication, and behavioral change to bring philosophical and spiritual insight into people’s lives in practical, impactful ways. I’ve facilitated transformational retreats and coached people one-on-one through major inner shifts — not by giving advice, but by asking the questions they avoid, reframing what seems stuck, and helping them see with fresh eyes. My path has taken me from life as a monk, to military service, to facilitating transformational retreats — and now into tech. What ties it all together is my commitment to solving hard problems while staying grounded in purpose.
