• At Vectra I started the Austin office which grew into the primary development site. I started as Engineering Director for new products and then oversaw all of engineering. We built high performance inline network monitoring tools to find sophisticated attacks inside customer networks. This included low level C++ & DPDK for the packet path. We also built frameworks for the Data Science team to write C++ and Python modules to model attacks. The front end stack was a mix of Ember with Django on the backend.
• I later helped prototype an event processing pipeline and helped setup the initial team in Dublin, Ireland to build out the product.

Jun 2013 – Mar 2015 · 1 yr 9 mos

• At Juniper I grew the Austin office from a team of four to a full development office with 25 engineers. This included hiring the team, mentoring managers and engineers along with helping design and build the space. We built a cloud hosted web gateway that dynamically scaled and updated with zero downtime.

Mar 2012 – Jun 2013 · 1 yr 3 mos

• I managed the Nexpose Web Crawler and Remote Exploit Verification team at Rapid7. Shortly after joining I lead the Controls Insight team to bring the project back on track and launch one of Rapid7's first beta projects.

• I joined Cisco to work on the ASA CX, a context aware version of Cisco's popular ASA. I ran the eventing and reporting team where I designed and help build the core analytics platform and the plugin architecture for shipping security and signature updates.

Jun 2003 – Feb 2010 · 6 yrs 8 mos

• I started my career at IBM working on the AIX Kernel and System Libraries. I owned the kernel allocator, worked on the scheduler and owned many of the base libraries (libpthreads, libc etc.).
• I later worked in the IBM Cell team (Playstation 3 processor). I helped build the world's fastest ray tracer (iRT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKqZKXwop5E), define and build OpenCL for Cell (https://www.khronos.org/registry/OpenCL/specs/opencl-1.1.pdf) and improve on the Cell SDK.
