• Worked with the Operations Research scientists and Rail Team on the RailMAX project to develop a faster Train Scheduling Algorithm than the existing algorithm of the product. The solution developed by me Improved the performance of the Scheduling tool by 100x on current test sets and my work has the potential for scaling to much more load than the existing algorithm in the future. By the end of the internship, my algorithm and the associated C# library project I implemented single-handedly, what had started as an approximation had overtaken the existing solution of the product in all possible parameters including exactness, performance, maintainability, flexibility of use, improvement, and compatibility with various heuristics.
