• Notification Service is a specification defined by Service availability Forum (SAF) and it is a part of opensaf middleware. Opensaf is a open source middleware initially contributed by Emerson Network Power (previous name Motorola ECC). Opensaf Middleware provides High Availability for telecom server. As a part of opensaf middleware, Notification Service gives information about change in the system to its users in the form of notifications. The user of Notification Service can be Administrator of system or any other service in opensaf middleware. Notification Service is highly efficient, reliable and gives guaranty of delivering notifications (Events) to the user of notification service. Notification service also log Notifications (Events) which can be read later through reader API’s provided by notification service.
• Avantellis 4440 is a middleware specially produced For Motorola. Avantellis 4440 provides high availability. It is highly reliable, efficient and works for several server blades. Avantellis has one feature called simple software upgrade (SSU). Already deployed systems can be upgraded with SSU without loss of service. SSU offered upgrade of server blades which have Hard disk as well as which are diskless, I have worked on upgrade of diskless blades which is also known as Net boot Blades. Net boot Blade upgrade involves upgrade of BIOS, IPMC as well as Software. With SSU Net boot feature we can have two software images at a time in the system and we can upgrade Net boot Blade from one software image to other, if anything goes wrong with new image we can rollback to previous working software image.
