• GE Sharpe and Company provides bespoke Professional Quantity Surveying services to the construction industry. Based in South Croydon in Surrey, they operate throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
• The internship at GE sharpe & company was an experience that introduced me to the multidisciplinary nature of quantity surveying and how it encompasses elements from all fields including economics, law, architecture, business administration, mathematics & management.
• Key duties:
• Examining and valuing the measured quantities of drawings conducted by the architects and engineers for both office areas and external projects and management schemes which included roads, paving, landscaping & local community architecture.
• Visiting an existing site and reviewing its architectural drawings of before and after the extension of the building was completed.
• Reviewing and completing a coordinated timetable of work effort and labor.

• My summer internship at the Daniel Spargo Mabbs Foundation involved travelling to a variety of Secondary schools across London, to educate large groups of young teenagers and school teachers on drug and alcohol use. The charity was founded by the mother of 16 year old Daniel, after he had died from taking ecstasy.
• Working at the foundation had helped me improve very valuable skills across all work industries including my communication skills, teamworking skills, and relationship building and interpersonal skills.
• Key duties:
• Speak in school assemblies to pupils and teachers to create awareness of the dangers that a miss use of drugs may have on a persons life by explaining in detail the specific effects of numerous drugs and also share Daniel's story.
• Work well with the charity team to provide the students and teachers with high quality education on drugs and alcohol, as well as complete all presentations and activities on time.
• Work with with pupils 1 on 1, to encourage and support them in the various activities and group discussions.
• Educate and advise teachers on how to properly look out for and support students which may themselves be having issues with drug or alcohol use or have family members that have similar issues.
