• Worked with team to create a two-part solution to improve recycling rates across college campuses and help optimize operations for recycling facilities.
• 1. Machine Learning Algorithm connected to a scanner that scanned waste and lit up an LED light on the correct bin so students are alerted on exactly where to place the bin.
• 2. Cloud-based analytics system that pipelined the data (scanned items, unscanned items, last emptied time, location, etc) of campus bins owned by a recycling facility to a centralized platform where this data could be used to optimize routing and other operations
