• Daily I work helping multiple business verticals and development teams which are located in different timezones acting as SRE/infrastructure link between them

• Helping our teammates learning new stacks and techniques
• Pushing forward and helping to implement GitOps workflows in the company
• Integrating and leading company acquisitions at infrastructure level
• Helping to implement SOC2 certification
• Helping to have small cloud invoices (FinOps)
• Working in OS updates without downtime for our EC2
• Starting infrastructure as code into the IT department
• Working in company wide IDM solution for the IT department
• Working experience with container schedulers in a very regulated industry (financial)

• Moving legacy systems from EC2 to our internal PaaS based in Docker and Fargate

• Helping to scale our oncall team and oncall techniques
• Helping to scale SRE team from 2 people to tens in multiple timezones
• Helping to scale development team from 15 developers to hundred and distributed in multiple locations and time zones
• Introducing concepts of infrastructure as software

• Helping integrating SRE discipline into autonomous the development teams, pushing reliability techniques
• Moving main databases from EC2 to RDS with nearly zero downtime

• During this period I was working improving our infrastructure code. Our code base was a set of Chef , Ruby and Bash using techniques such as TDD with ChefSpec and Rspec and integration testing with Kitchen. All our code was managed with GIT as CVS and our workload was mainly running on AWS EC2
• I was helping to improve our CI/CD process decreasing deployment times and increasing stability of the pipelines , at that time we were using Jenkins as CI and Shipit as CD tool.
• We started a rebranding effort moving domains from Peertransfer.com to Flywire.com
• At the end of 2015 and beginning of 2016 we started our infrastructure as code with Terraform
• 2016 is when the team started to grow and I was promoted to infrastructure technical lead.
